Alan Class Publishers

Publishers of the Mystery Series of Comics

Alan Class starting publishing comics in 1959. For thirty years his comics - Creepy Worlds, Astounding Stories, Secrets of the Unknown, Sinister Tales, Suspense and Uncanny Tales - were part of the landscape of every comics reader growing up in Britain.

These black & white squarebound compilations, usually 68 pages, gathered an astonishing diversity of material, including ACG, Charlton, Atlas, Tower, Archie's super-heroes, and the early years of Marvel.

Alan Class is now selling his file copies, including early numbers and short-run series, exclusively through Putney's 30th Century Comics. He will be making a personal appearance at 30th Century at 18 Lower Richmond Road, Putney, London, on Sunday 29th August 2007 from 2-5pm, to sign copies from his file collection, and talk about his career in comics publishing.

Also available are a limited number of Collector's Sets -the comic, the colour printing plates used to produce that issue's cover, and often one or more proof pages, with a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Mr. Class.
